Door Thickness
The Thickness of your door determines which deadbolt model will work with your Egress Deadbolt Indicator (EDI).
Door Stile Width
If your door has glass or a panel then the width of the door stile is important.
Lock Backset: 2-3/8″
Minimum PULL-SIDE Stile Width: 4-1/4″
Lock Backset: 2-3/4″
Minimum PULL-SIDE Stile Width: 4-5/8″

Deadbolts
The EDI is an accessory item to the Schlage and Falcon line of cylindrical deadbolts. The deadbolt is sold separately. If you are a locksmith or trade professional, you can supply your own deadbolt. If you need a deadbolt, we will be happy to help you determine the correct model for your needs and include it with your order.
The Egress Deadbolt Indicator and Restroom Deadbolt Indicator are not manufactured or distributed by Schlage or Falcon. Schlage and Falcon are registered trademarks of Allegion plc.

Schlage® B662P & B662P6
Double Cylinder Deadbolt: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key on either side.
This is Schlage’s Grade 11,000,000 cycles deadbolt used in high-traffic commercial areas. It has a full sized collar that looks great with the EDI. This is a standard key-in-knob (KIK) deadbolt. The “P” model comes with a 6 pin cylinder, keyed 5 pin. The “P6” model is keyed 6 pin. Default keyway is Schlage’s S123.
- Most manufacturers’ keyways are possible when used with Ilco or GMS cylinders. See our PRO-Resources page for TECH NOTES: EDI – Compatible Cylinders.
- For door thickness of 1-3/8″ to 1-5/8″: Order an Adapter Ring with your EDI.
- For door thickness of 1-3/4″ to 2″: Additional hardware supplied with the EDI.
- For door thickness of more than 2″ up to 2-1/4″, order additional long tailpiece.
Schlage® B562P & B562P6
Double Cylinder Deadbolt: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key on either side.
This is Schlage’s Grade 2400,000 cycles commercial deadbolt used in medium-duty commercial applications. It has a smaller collar than the B600 series deadbolts. The “P” model comes with a 6 pin cylinder, keyed 5 pin. The “P6” model is keyed 6 pin. Comes with Schlage 6 pin C-Keyway.
- Can not be used with the EDI if using SFIC or LFIC cores or doors greater than 1-3/4″

Falcon ® D131P
Double Cylinder Deadbolt: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key on either side.
This is Falcon’s Grade 11,000,000 cycles commercial deadbolt used in medium-duty commercial applications. It has a small collar. Comes with Falcon’s standard 6 pin G-keyway.

Schlage® B662B & B662G
Double Cylinder Deadbolt: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key on either side.
This is Schlage’s Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) model and works with any manufacturers’ SFIC cores. The “B” model comes less core. The “G” model comes with Schlage’s 7 pin SFIC.
- For door thickness of 1-3/8″ to 1-5/8″: Order an Adapter Ring with your EDI
- For door thickness of 1-3/4″ to 2-1/4″: Additional hardware supplied with the EDI.
Schlage® B662R & B662J
Double Cylinder Deadbolt: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key on either side.
This is Schlage’s Grade 11,000,000 cycles deadbolt that uses their Full Size Interchangable Core (FSIC). The “R” model comes with the FSIC core. The “J” model is less core.
- For door thickness of 1-3/8″ to 1-5/8″: Order an Adapter Ring with your EDI
- For door thickness of 1-3/4″ to 2-1/4″: Additional hardware supplied with the EDI.

EDI-T (Thumbturn) Compatible Deadbolts
WARNING: Not all jurisdictions allow a thumbturn on a door in the path of egress. Please check with your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) before purchasing an EDI-T.

Classroom deadbolt lock: Deadbolt thrown or retracted by key outside. Inside turn unit will retract bolt only. Bolt automatically deadlocks when fully thrown.

the EDI
Step 1
If you are using a passage lever, call out make and model.
Schlage ALX70 SATURN 626
If you are using a push/pull, call out the make and model plus the manufacturer’s code for a 2-1/8″ cutout. (See our TECH SHEET for how to properly specify the cutouts.)
